I was moved to put the Rev. Michael J. O’Connell Endowment Fund in my will because of legacy. I am at a point in my life when I’ve started to think about whether I’ve made a positive contribution during my brief moment of time on this earth. When I enter The Basilica, I am aware of how privileged I am to go to Mass in such a magnificent and inspirational building. Not only are the surroundings beautiful, but there is a sacredness and sense of peace. I believe this comes in part from all those who have been here before me and I want to make sure that gift is available for future generations.
