I started attending the Basilica of St. Mary in 1988. At that time my mother wanted to go back to the church she attended with her parents and siblings, as a child. The Basilica was in need of major repairs and it was truly sad to see this beautiful and historical building in such disrepair.
I did not join the Basilica as a member until 1996, when I became a member of the Cathedral choir at the Basilica. Upon my mother’s death in 1995, I had made a promise to her, that I would join the Basilica, and become an integral part of its history. It is with that promise I made, and to fulfill that promise, that I have made a planned gift to the Rev. Michael J. O’Connell Endowment Fund. It is with gratitude that I can be a part of this historical and spiritual place.
