Landmark Spark: COVID-19 Update

March 20, 2020
Dear friends of The Basilica Landmark,

We have made the decision to cancel this year’s Landmark Spark. While we are certainly disappointed, we have to protect each other and our greater communities from possible exposure to the Coronavirus.

Our environment is changing daily. Since we are not sure what life will look like next week or next month, there are no plans to reschedule Landmark Spark at this time. For those of you whom already purchased tickets or sponsorships to Landmark Spark, we thank you for your support. If you would like to secure a refund, please contact us as indicated below. Or if you prefer your ticket or sponsorship investment be redirected as a donation to the Fund-A-Need, we would graciously accept this as your gift to this cause.

While we are not able to gather as a community for this event, we do continue to pursue our goals to support this year’s Fund-A-Need:

The natural aging of the Basilica’s 112-year old exterior façade—namely masonry and joints—requires continued restoration to protect our revered interior space. This year, our exterior improvements will focus on the upper-west nave wall to remedy the most pressing substrate needs. For those who would still like to support this effort at this time, please contact Holly Dockendorf at 612.317.3432.

As we all get used to our “new normal,” we tend to evaluate the things that matter most. As your circumstances allow, we hope you will consider a gift to The Basilica Landmark. Thank you all for your support in this decision and our continued initiatives to Keep the Flame Alive for The Basilica Landmark.

We are truly grateful for this community and look forward to the time when we can once again gather in joyous celebration.

Stay safe and be well,
The Basilica Landmark Spark Committee
