This was an exciting year for The Basilica Landmark – years of preparation and groundwork brought forth the first steps of the vision we are building. The restoration planning process began to take shape more visibly in the church.

The preliminary restoration work started with the mock-up section in early September. Teams of experts tested design and restoration techniques on the plaster ceiling, stone walls, stained glass windows, and lighting. These findings will help us to prepare and plan for the larger restoration starting later in 2025.

Our team of staff and volunteers look forward to sharing more about the Restoring Beauty, Inspiring Hope project with you in the coming year. It builds upon our shared vision, and takes The Basilica into the future to continue to be a beacon of hope in our community.
