Livestream Equipment and Training

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we began offering Sunday Mass at 9:30 am through livestreaming on Facebook, using nothing more advanced than an iPhone.  The ability for our parish to continue to worship as a community each Sunday offered comfort and connection during great uncertainty.  The impact was immediate and proved to be an essential lifeline to many despite the very basic quality of our broadcasting capability.  Today, our technology and ability to deliver high quality livestreaming has greatly improved through an anonymous gift to The Basilica Landmark.  We have been able to acquire the proper equipment, cameras, lighting, computers, software and training needed to livestream high-quality video.  Twenty Basilica staff members work in small teams each day to support all of our livestreaming needs (weddings, confirmations, first-communions, prayer services, daily and Sunday Masses).
